Emotions can take the form of the churning sea that the master calms, they can result in murder in the heat of a moment, or they can be cherished and nurtured over a lifetime to create a being that is truly evil. In this discussion we will compare the sources of conflict in two plays, Othello and Macbeth. Iago and Lady Macbeth are our major obessives, the first prompted by frustration with being passed over in military command, and the second with a compulsive need for power and title.
